It could be any number of things ranging from a dependence on some error recovery that IE supports from Firefox doesn't, to using proprietary features that appear only in IE.

Make sure your markup and CSS is valid, and see http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Usi...

The basic problem though seems to be "The book you have is rubbish and out of date". http://nefariousdesigns.co.uk/archive/20... has some good resources for learning JavaScript.

you can configure ff to run as if it's internet explorer.

check the options or tools menus.

it usually solves the problem.
I've just done a google search using xhtml and firefox as the search criteria. There's alot of info regarding this issue...and alot of fixes.

Here's the google search:

Good luck!
I am not sure what you are asking here really but I can tell you that IE and Firefox will not interpret the source code the same way.

I would verify that you are using valid XHTML and CSS and edit it to show up correctly in Firefox then use the conditional comments to make it show up directly in the different versions of IE.

Use the validation tools available on the http://w3c.org website for your XHTML/HTML and CSS.

Also if you are doing DOM Scripting with your JavaScript you should be aware that the DOMs are different between the browsers.
