Problems with internet browser?

So ever since i did system recovery to my computer it has been having a lot of problems. I have had this on going problem with IE. For some reason i was able to log onto aim, but IE just wouldn't load, nothing would show up on the screen... AT ALL.

So i called my internet provider to see what was going on, and he said that the connection to the internet was fine, and that the there was something wrong with the browser. Sometimes IE works, but after using it for about half and hour or so, it will just stop working and the pages won't load.

Does anyone know what is wrong with my browser or any way thta i could fix it?

Problems with internet browser?microsoft xp

I don't know what version you have, but there were a lot of problems with IE7. I went back to the old version. You could try the logical approach. Clear your cache, and cookies, clean your registry, and last but not least, defrag.

Problems with internet browser?download windows xp internet explorer

Re-download internet explorer, you can do that from Microsoft's website.. if that still doesnt work, let me know and I will help you. I had this problem a few years back.

Before doing what the user above has said you can uninstall and reinstall IE wont take long.

You might need your windows XP cd.

Go to start then select control panel

go to add or remove programs and select add/remove windows components you will find it on the left side of the window.

Give it sometime to load u will see a list of components uncheck the box next to internet explorer and click next it will uninstall IE for you.

Restart your computer and go back to the add/remove windows components like i asked you to before check the box next to internet explorer and click next it will reinstall IE .See if it works for you.
IE stinks. I suggest using Mozilla Firefox it is much more stable, and actually better in many ways. It is free, and you will find yourself crashing less and having less problems....not to mention it lets through less spyware and random crap.
Honestly I would suggest you shy away from IE totally and go with firefox. However reinstalling IE may fix the problem.

Before you do that you might want to open a command box by clicking start, Run, cmd then hitting enter

Once there type in ipconfig /release then hit enter

then type in ipconfig /renew

If that solves your problem without updating or reinstalling your browser I would contact the internet provider and point that out to them as the problem is on their side or it could be a compatibuility issue with your router.
Let me add to Jacks answer, when you goto the microsofts site download Internet Explorer 7.0, when you click download select save to; Desktop.

Once you have it saved to your desktop you want to get rid of the old version completely so your not upgrading, which keeps the same ole crap, you want a fresh install. Goto your control panel to add/remove programs and uninstall Internet explorer. when that is done, reboot your computer and re-install the downloaded copy.

The first time you use it you have to reconfigure the browser to connect to the internet. Start internet explorer, if it comes up with no result or page can not be found, click on the TOOLS tab at top menu, and select Internet options, the click the connections tab.

Click on setup- next to to setup an internet connect.

I assume you have broadband cable so select setup a Lan or home office. and follow the wizard.
If you want to stick with IE, just re install it,

My advice is switch over to firefox, it is quite an advantage over IE

also new ie is very irritating, on the other hand firefox has several addons which are really useful and it also a bit faster and more reliable.

bye
Did you check your cache settings? Or try CCleaner (free) to clear out the junk eating your memory.
