Recently we tried to buy an IN76 Infocus Projector, we put a personal cq into Michael's / Commonwealth Bank Account, Victoria, Australia. 1 week later EBAY tell us if we have not received our goods to contact Michael as they had removed him from EBAY but we only had his bank a/c details. The bank would not give us his address / phone no/ email/ neither would Ebay. We are hoping the FRAUD SQUAD can help. The worst part of this is my Dad who recently passed gave me $2500 Aud to buy the Projector. We have lost the money %26amp; We

still have to buy a projector, in the shops they sell for about $4500 Aud.

Let me know have you had a similar experience with EBAY.

We've done a lot of business on Ebay and never have had one problem. I have never ordered outside of the USA -- except from Canada. AND I always look at the sellers feedbacks to make sure they have established themselves well on EBAY before doing any large $ transactions. I'm cautious about new sellers and anything overseas. There are a lot of scammers out there.

That's a lot of money. See what rights you have through EBAY and or PayPal. If you paid via PayPal or via a credit card you might have some legal means to get your money back. You can talk to your local law enforcement but I suspect that they won't be able to do anything since everything was conducted over the internet and overseas. They might be able to advise you of other avenues.

Did you pay via PayPal? If so you could probably get your money back through them if you file a complaint.
Much depends on the vendors.... Always check things out, particularly if they sound too good to be true.
