The first window I open in Internet explorer will open and run okay, but if I open additional pages in different windows, the first page won't load for a long time and won't shut down, However, the rest of the open windows work fine. After I close everything else, that first window still won't close and I have to go to start and log off that way. A real pain. Any ideas?

Lisa:
I have Windows XP Pro, and have used every platform including all of their servers that Microsoft has ever put out.
And every time I go out and spend money on a Microsoft CD, I will that I am buying "swiss cheese". CD, that is loaded with critical security flaws. (Especially when you install and have to start with installing 88 or more critical patches. Then you get the patches to replace the patches).
Vista, in my opinion has more problems then any other platform Microsoft ever put out.
The best platform Microsoft ever put out was Windows 2000 Server. And that was because the entire platform was built in Australia, and not in Redmond, Wa., where Microsoft Headquarters are located. (Never had one problem with the 2000 server platform, other then it was hard to find compatible software for the server).
Problems is Microsoft does not support any platform prior to Windows XP.
If every person runs Windows, would boycott, Micorsoft perhaps they would get their act together, instead of just getting richer each an every day.

Never encountered such a problem, but:
If you are on XP: go to Start -%26gt; Run -%26gt; type "sfc /scannow" without quotes, have Windows installation CD in handy. Reboot.
If on Windows Millenium (ME?) then get 98lite and follow instructions. When procedure completes, you can remove InternetExplorer via Add/Remove programs -%26gt; Add/remove system components. Remove, reboot, add same way, reboot.
If no improvements, consider familiarizing with some other browser like Opera or Firefox. It WILL pay off.
